Chasing the Motherload

from The Man's a Freak by The Weary Band

/

about

Recorded and produced by the band in Phillip's bedroom.

lyrics

Perhaps i'll work to win a promotion in a laboratory.
I will invent a new kind of lotion, killing all allergy.
I'll buy a car and a new horizon; something to aim it at.
I'll be the man someone relies on, can you imagine that?

Perhaps you and me will try
to be free for a day without complication.
And then you and I will die.
And the car gathered rust in the rain.

Perhaps i'll follow you through the forest holding on to yur hand.
I can not care and to be honest I can not understand.
Why we are leaving our life behind us only to go and hide.
I kind of know no one will find us over the other side.

Perhaps it will not be long
before we walk away in the wrong direction.
I won't know where we went wrong.
But i'll know what we had, had gone.

We should be chasing the motherload.
We shouldn't be let down.

Perhaps I will never grow old and lose my virginity.
I'll never forget all that i'm told or the thrill of discovery.
And all my dreams they will be out there waiting ahead of me.
I'll never know fear, loss or despair.

This negativity that is reality quietly killing me.

We should be chasing the motherload.
We shouldn't be let down.
